Your adventure begins aboard the 9:00a.m. Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad train as it departs for Silverton. Unparalleled views of the Animas Canyon are only one highlight of this step back in time.

Upon your arrival in Silverton around 12:30pm, enjoy lunch on your own at one of Silverton’s great eateries. Take time to tour this Old West mining town prior to meeting your shuttle ride back to Durango for your afternoon Raft trip. The Mountain Waters shuttle (white shuttle bus with blue lettering “Rafting”) will meet you at 2:15pm at 12th and Mineral Street for your scenic drive along the San Juan Skyway. You will arrive back at Mountain Waters headquarters in time to prepare for the 3:45pm lower Animas raft trip. A 6:00 PM finish means you’ll return to the Mountain Waters Rafting headquarters with plenty of evening left to recount the day’s memories while dining at one of Durango’s fine restaurants or strolling Main Avenue.

“Beautiful Scenery & Awesome Experience…

We did the Rail & Raft package; an excellent package! We upgraded our package to ride the Alamosa Parlor Car… the views were absolutely breathtaking at times… People take turns out on the observation platform. Since it was the last car of the train, you have nice views off the back of the train as well.”
